About Naha Cruise Terminal (Wakasa Berth / Tomari Pier 8)
The Naha Cruise Terminal — also known as Wakasa Cruise Terminal, Wakasa Berth, Tomari Pier 8, or in Japanese 那覇クルーズターミナル / 若狭バース / 泊8号岸壁 — sits on the waterfront in the Wakasa district of Naha City. It is the closest cruise berth to downtown Naha, putting the famous Kokusai-dori shopping street just five minutes away by car and Shuri Castle within fifteen minutes.
The Tomari Iyumachi fish market is within walking distance, so you can enjoy Okinawan sashimi and seafood bowls minutes after stepping off the ship. SUI TAXI meets you directly in front of the terminal in a private Alphard and takes you wherever you would like to go.
Small and mid-sized ships tend to be assigned here rather than to the second berth. Azamara Pursuit (Azamara) and Star Seeker (Windstar Cruises) are both scheduled to call at this terminal. If your ship is docked at Wakasa Berth, cruise terminal pickup is straightforward: we wait in front of the terminal building, and you are on Kokusai-dori within minutes of stepping ashore.
Where we meet you
After you disembark, come through the security check and take the escalator down to the first floor. We wait in the first-floor waiting area with a name board and walk you to the car from there. A shuttle bus is sometimes provided between the ship's gangway and the terminal.
There is a stand for pre-booked cars, but on busy days there may be no space. Rather than ask you to wait at the stand, we meet you in the waiting area and take you to the car.
On the way back, we set you down outside the terminal building, following the security staff's directions.
The berth the ship uses makes no difference. Every ship brings you out to the same waiting area.
Driver's Notes
There is a stand for pre-booked cars, but on busy days there is no room. I do not treat the stand as the meeting point; I wait in the first-floor waiting area with a name board and walk the guest to the car.
Drop-offs are outside the terminal building, wherever the security staff direct me.
The berth does not change the route through the terminal.
