DMM Kariyushi Aquarium A New Sensory Experience Immersed in the Ocean.
Toyosaki, Tomigusuku City | Entertainment Aquarium | Photogenic Experiences
Where Visual Technology and Aquarium Merge for a Completely New Experience.
DMM Kariyushi Aquarium is a next-generation entertainment aquarium that opened in May 2020 inside IAS Toyosaki in Tomigusuku City. Under the concept of "Drowning in the Ocean," this immersive facility fuses cutting-edge projection mapping, interactive digital art, and real aquatic life exhibits, growing into a new standard attraction for Okinawa tourism.
Inside the facility, coral reef creatures native to Okinawa's seas are the centerpiece, with tropical fish, sea turtles, rays, sharks, jellyfish, and many other creatures on display. The biggest draw is the "Digital Aquarium" zone. In this immersive space where visuals are projected on all 360 degrees -- floor, walls, and ceiling -- you feel as if you are actually inside the ocean. The photogenic exhibits are so stunning that you will want to take dozens of photos in this area alone.
While Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is a classic aquarium that "shows the natural ocean as it is," DMM Kariyushi Aquarium pursues "the aquarium experience as entertainment." It delivers surprises and emotions that transcend the conventional concept of an aquarium, for visitors from children to adults. The convenient access -- about 20 minutes from Naha Airport and within 30 minutes from central Naha -- is also a major attraction.

Highlights of DMM Kariyushi Aquarium
The Digital Aquarium recreates schools of fish and coral reefs through projection mapping inside a 360-degree immersive video space. The exhibit, where the real and the digital blend together, is also popular as a photo spot.
The exhibits are designed to bring visitors close to the marine life, and at the touch pool you can directly touch starfish and shellfish. The tunnel tank, where rays and large fish swim overhead, is also worth seeing. The whole facility is built to be photogenic, so you can take plenty of memorable photos in places like the blue glow of the jellyfish or in front of the digital art.
