SUI TAXI · SOUTH OKINAWA
Okinawa World A Journey to Experience Ryukyu Culture.
Gyokusendo Cave | Eisa Show | Nanjo City, South Okinawa
300,000 Years of Nature and Ryukyu Culture United.
Located in Nanjo City, Okinawa World is a comprehensive theme park centered around Gyokusendo Cave, one of Japan's largest limestone caves with a total length of 5 km. The cave interior, formed over more than 300,000 years, maintains a comfortable temperature of 21 degrees Celsius year-round. Visitors walk through an approximately 890-meter course amid fantastic illumination. The countless stalactites hanging from the ceiling are awe-inspiring works of art created by nature.
Within the theme park, you can experience traditional Okinawan crafts at the "Kingdom Village," learn about habu snake ecology at the "Habu Museum Park," and enjoy spectacular Eisa shows (paid, scheduled performances). Shops stocked with specialties from across Okinawa are also well-equipped, making it perfect for souvenir hunting. It is a comprehensive facility where you can experience all of Okinawa's history, nature, and culture in one place.
Easily accessible from Naha city at about 30-40 minutes by car, and with the World Heritage Site "Sefa Utaki" nearby, many visitors come here as a paired destination for southern Okinawa sightseeing. On SUI TAXI's southern course, we can efficiently guide you to both Okinawa World and Sefa Utaki in a single day.

How to Enjoy Okinawa World
Gyokusendo Cave is an 890-metre viewing course where you walk through a space lined with massive stalactites and stone pillars. The cave stays at around 21 degrees Celsius year-round, so it feels cool in summer and warm in winter. The 15-metre-tall "Golden Pillar" is a particularly memorable spot, and the illuminated cave is a place that visitors of all ages can take their time to enjoy.
Eisa shows are held several times a day on the outdoor stage. They are a chance to see the drums and dance of Okinawa's traditional Eisa up close, so please check the show times before visiting (they are listed on the official website). At Kingdom Village there are workshops for Ryukyu glass, pottery and weaving where you can have fun making your own souvenirs.
