OKINAWA Fruits Land To a Treasure Trove of Tropical Fruits.
Nago City | Tropical Fruit Garden | Mango & Dragon Fruit | Tasting Experience
Discover rare tropical fruits nurtured by the Okinawan sun.
Fruits Land is a tropical and subtropical fruit tourism facility located in Nago City, Okinawa. It brings together rare tropical fruits rarely seen on mainland Japan, offering visitors the chance to observe cultivation, taste samples, and even experience harvesting — a uniquely northern Okinawa attraction. Mangoes, dragon fruit, star fruit, cacao, papayas, and other southern fruits that can only be grown in Okinawa's warm climate fill the grounds, immersing you in a tropical atmosphere simply by walking through the orchards. About 90 minutes by car from central Naha, it is popular as a stop on northern Okinawa sightseeing courses combined with Churaumi Aquarium and Junglia.
Inside the facility, specialized staff guide visitors while explaining each fruit's characteristics and cultivation methods. For example, dragon fruit is a type of cactus that blooms at night; star fruit forms a star shape when sliced crosswise; and cacao is a tropical plant that produces the beans used for chocolate — you will be surprised to learn the hidden sides of fruits you eat every day. It is also popular as a food education experience for children and is often included in school trips and family vacation itineraries.
When it comes to Okinawa's signature fruit, nothing compares to mango. Fruits Land cultivates the Okinawan Irwin variety, and during the season (May–August), you can see the orchards laden with brilliantly orange mangoes on every branch. The sweetness and rich aroma you taste during sampling are on an entirely different level from imported mangoes. Visiting during peak season offers the ultimate luxury of eating fresh, tree-ripened mangoes on the spot. The shop also carries a wide selection of Okinawan mango juice, mango pudding, dried mango, and other souvenirs.

Highlights of Fruits Land
The greatest appeal of Fruits Land is that it is an interactive facility offering a complete see-touch-taste experience. Rather than viewing through glass, visitors walk beneath tropical fruit trees, listen to staff explanations, and taste samples on the spot — an immersive experience that is hard to find elsewhere. In addition to Okinawa's signature tropical fruits like mango, dragon fruit, and star fruit, dozens of rare southern fruits are cultivated and exhibited, making it a true treasure trove for plant enthusiasts and food explorers. Cacao pods, vanilla beans, and massive jackfruit are among the rare tropical plants on display.
Fruit-picking experiences (varying by season and variety) are another popular attraction, and the joy of harvesting fruit with your own hands and eating it right there is extraordinary. Smoothies, parfaits, and other sweets made with fresh fruit are also available, making the perfect refreshment to cap off your visit. Admission is Adults ¥1,200 / Children ¥600, and it can be enjoyed alongside the adjacent Pineapple Park for great value.

Star fruit — sliced crosswise, it forms a star shape. A refreshingly tart southern fruit.
Getting to Fruits Land by taxi
Fruits Land is about 90 minutes by car from central Naha via the Okinawa Expressway. SUI TAXI offers not only standalone visits to Fruits Land but also a "Northern Fruit Experience Course" combining it with the adjacent Pineapple Park, as well as a "Northern Full Sightseeing Course (8–10 hours)" paired with Junglia and Churaumi Aquarium. Since Fruits Land and Pineapple Park are within walking distance of each other, the northern course covering both is especially popular with families.
If traveling during mango season (May–August), we strongly recommend including the ripe mango tasting experience at Fruits Land in your itinerary. SUI TAXI excels at adjusting routes to match your travel schedule — requests like "I want to eat mangoes before going to Churaumi Aquarium" or "I want to eat soki soba in Nago on the way back" are flexibly accommodated.
— Mango season (May–August) is a must: Okinawan mangoes are in season from May to August. During this time, Fruits Land offers ripe mango tasting and harvesting experiences. The sweetness of mangoes eaten at the source is extraordinary — once you try it, supermarket mangoes will never be the same. If visiting during the season, be sure to include this in your itinerary.
