Located in Chatan Town, Nakagami District, Okinawa, American Village is a unique entertainment zone redeveloped on land returned from a former US military base. Especially popular is the area around "Depot Island" at dusk. The sight of colorful neons lit against an orange sky and the East China Sea is utterly photogenic. The unique contrast between Okinawa's blue sea and the American-style buildings creates a charm found nowhere else. Located about 30 minutes from central Naha via the expressway, it is a classic central Okinawa sightseeing spot.

The half-day course combining American Village with Manzamo is especially well-received. The course—enjoying the ocean views at Manzamo in the morning and shopping and sunsets at American Village in the afternoon—delivers a dynamic Okinawa experience. How to Enjoy American Village

Depot Island is the main area of American Village, where Mediterranean-style white buildings line the streets and house cafés, select shops and restaurants. It is especially atmospheric around sunset, and many visitors enjoy taking photos of the sun setting over the East China Sea from here.

The symbolic Ferris wheel (about 60m tall) gives a sweeping view of Okinawa's sea and sky, and the view at dusk is particularly recommended. The shopping area gathers local brands, American goods, Okinawan souvenirs and outlet items, and many shops stay open late, so you can take your time browsing even after dinner.

American Village by Taxi

The estimated fare for a round-trip charter from Naha to American Village (3–4 hours) starts from ¥18,600 (tax included, expressway tolls separate). The "Central Course (5–6 hours)" combined with Manzamo starts from approximately ¥31,000. Evening visit plans are also available, and transfers from Onna Village resort hotels are also handled.

The Chatan area becomes very congested on weekends and holidays in the evening. With a charter taxi, there's no stress finding parking. While the driver waits, guests can leisurely stroll, shop, and dine.
